Eine Einleitung

Abstract

Was ist die Rolle der praktischen Philosophie als akademische Disziplin angesichts der Klimakrise? Welche gesellschaftlich relevanten Fragen kann die praktische Philosophie in der Klimakrise beantworten und somit zum öffentlichen Diskurs beitragen? Darüberhinausgehend: Was ist die Rolle praktischer Philosoph*innen in ihrer Funktion als Angehörige der Universität, als Forschende und Lehrende und als solche Personen, die sich an der öffentlichen gesellschaftlichen Debatte beteiligen? Kann, darf oder muss sich die praktische Philosophie als eine transformative Wissenschaft begreifen, die gesellschaftliche Problemlagen nicht nur apolitisch beschreibt, sondern selbst Verantwortung für die Erreichung gesamtgesellschaftlicher Nachhaltigkeitsziele erreicht? Auf diese Fragen versucht dieser Schwerpunkt Antworten zu geben.

What is the role of practical philosophy as an academic discipline in light of the climate crisis? What socially relevant questions can practical philosophy answer and thus contribute to public discourse? Going beyond that: What is the role of practical philosophers in their function as members of the university, as researchers and teachers, and as individuals who participate in public social debate? Can, should, or must practical philosophy see itself as a transformative science that not only describes social problems in an apolitical way, but also takes responsibility for achieving sustainability goals for society as a whole? This special issue attempts to provide answers to these questions.
